Does anyone really care that much about the Boise State vs Idaho rivalry anymore? Ever since Boise State and Idaho have moved to D-I it has been the tale of two completely different teams. One team seems to always find itself ranked in the top 25 every year, and the other team has been one of the worst teams in college football during the same time period. Let’s not kid ourselves here, Idaho has been the laughing stock of college football for years. That is not likely to change any time soon. I really wonder how much this game means to fans on either side. Something tells me that this game means more for all the Idaho fans then it does for the Boise State fans. That is if Idaho has any fans that are still left.

Personally I have a hard time getting excited about this game. It will be a disappointment if Boise State doesn't beat these guys by 40 points. Idaho is allowing 42 points a game; which is really sad when you realize how bad some of those teams are they have played.

I would love to see Idaho make the next step and become a better football program. Not just for their sakes, but for everyone who has to play them. It gets a little old watching blow out after blow out. Even if Boise State scores 70 points on Idaho no one is really going to take notice, because it is Idaho after all. It is teams like Idaho that gives the WAC such a bad reputation. I would love to have a hard fought rivalry every year where the game is in doubt going into the 4th quarter. I think fans on both sides would rather have that, and not having the game pretty much over after a quarter and half of football.

Maybe one of these years Idaho will get their act together, until that happens it is just going to be another bad WAC team playing Boise State.
